Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) President Faruque Ahmed expressed his belief on Sunday that Shakib Al Hasan could still make significant contributions to the national team if cleared by legal authorities and the government. The announcement came a day after reports confirmed that Shakib was excluded from Bangladesh's squad for the upcoming ODI series against West Indies. Despite his absence in the Test and T20I formats due to retirement, Shakib had expressed his desire to continue in ODIs until the 2025 Champions Trophy.
